We'll start off importing our file so that it creates a composition of its own. We'll add an Outer Glow that we can keyframe so that it pulses on and off.

Here we keyframe the sun to come up from behind the Moon Rock. We'll time the keyframe s on the opacity of a Color Overlay on the rock so that it brightens just as the sun reaches its stopping point.

Here's a slick tool that distorts a shape by moving Pins that you place on the layer. Transparency has a big impact, and in this case, we make a squirmy loop for Mr. Snake that we can use to have him slither out. First tries always look rough - try again to do a better job!

Using a particle system in After Effects takes some practice - I pre-compose the rocket and some "flame" to make a single unit and then keyframe its position so it flies across the sky.

Since I want the rocket to be destroyed, I looked through the other simulations After Effects can create and chose "Scatterize". Keyframing it from 0 to 100 doesn't look quite as good unless I also keyframe the opacity so it fades AS it is scattering.
