Android Programming with MIT App Inventor 2
As usual, we will start our new (and final) unit by creating a project folder where we will keep the important files we use as we create Android apps that you must back up to your Google Drive Turn-In folder each and every day. Copy and paste:
220315 App Inventor Project Folder
as you make this new folder under Documents on your computer.
NOTE: WiFi is what the tutorials recommend for the AI Companion to work - however, we will use a wired connection here at school.

DO NOT TRY TO CONNECT TO KINDLES WITH WiFi. We are using the USB cable to connect directly to the computer. No wi-fi, don't run AI Companion, don't make a QR Code.
|
You can keep the first button and add the second part on the same app. Imagine a "laryngitis" app where you could have custom preset phrases and a text entry box!

Testing your app
You can only connect to your own device via AI Companion at home - at school, this will NOT work.
|
To test your app, make sure AIStarter is running on your computer before plugging in the Kindle and choosing Connect-->USB. You will get a prompt on the Kindle you need to say Ok to, then it will open AI Companion for you and run your program.
DO NOT RUN AI COMPANION YOURSELF. IT WILL. NOT. WORK. |
