Use the start button to locate and run Adobe Premiere. This will be the only time for this project that we do this! Once the project has been created, you will ALWAYS use file explorer to go to your project folder and double click on the Premiere project to work on it. This way you will notice right away if a lot of work is missing because of a system crash - your project's name at the top should never say "Autosave" in it.
First, we need to name this project... using today's date instead of the one on the project folder, since we are creating a new file for this project on this day. Next we need to click on the "Browse" button and navigate, of course, to our new project folder. We also need to change the Scratch disk location for video and audio previews to a folder other than the project folder. I believe we can simply point to a folder we made called "SCRATCH" in the Documents folder for both the video and audio previews and we will save ourselves a lot of uploading.

Part 3 - Creating the Master Sequence and Importing Assets
Now we will make our main Sequence, also known at "Timelines". I always call the first one "Master" and it needs to be a specific size for this project. The preset for this project is AVCHD, 1080p30 - find and choose it carefully! It is NOT easy to fix later. Ignoring this step means re-doing all of your work. We will also import the folder with all of our assets and learn different ways of seeing those assets in our Project panel.
When you last saved Photoshop, all the layers were probably not visible at the same time. Make sure there's a checkmark next to anything you plan to use.
|
Simply add a checkmark next to the layers you wish to have in Premiere. Exclude any "extra" layers that snuck into your Title project that you don't need.

Building the Intro Title
We'll need one 60 second block of red color to warn us if we shrink our pictures too much. This block is called a Color Matte and it becomes one of our assets once we create it in Premiere. You can use this same method to make Backgrounds for your Titles if you need to.
Since it only lasts 5 seconds, grab the right hand edge of the color block and stretch it out to the end of the last picture. If your (S)nap is still activated (it's the icon that looks like a magnet), the computer will help you by jumping to places on the timeline you are likely trying to land on.
